All this in an effort to raise toys and money for the At-Risk children of the North Texas community. \nHotel InformationBook a Room at the Sheraton Dallas HotelSheraton Dallas Hotel Google Maps \nMARGARITA BALL TIPSBelow is a list of fun facts and tips for having fun at the Ball: \n\nMargarita Ball Tip #1: Get a hotel room. Everything is so much more fun if you are staying in the building before and after the ball. The Sheraton usually sells out quickly\, so if that happens\, stay somewhere near the hotel if you can.\nMargarita Ball Tip #2: Bring some food for your hotel room or go out to dinner before the Ball. There is No Food at the Margarita Ball and you will be hungry. There might be some food at an After Party\, if you’re invited to one\, however it goes fast!\nMargarita Ball Tip #3: If you do not get a hotel room\, take an Uber or a cab. Seriously\, this is a party and it gets a little crazy. An Uber or Cab ride to most parts of Dallas costs about the same as most parking places in downtown and there are bunch of officers on duty that night for various reasons.\nMargarita Ball Tip #4: Get to the hotel early! You may see a few lines that night so get everywhere early and you might avoid them.\nMargarita Ball Tip #5: Hydrate.\nMargarita Ball Tip #6: Have a home base. There will be 12\,000 people at the Ball so it’s smart to have places to meet your friends in case you get separated. If you lose everyone within the first 30 minutes\, get out there and make new friends.\nMargarita Ball Tip #7: BE NICE. This is a charity party.\nMargarita Ball Tip #8: It is a marathon\, not a sprint! Have fun tonight\, but pace yourself. Many first timers end up hitting it so hard they never see the end of the Ball let alone any of the After Parties.\nMargarita Ball Tip #9: Charge your camera and phone. You will be using both all night. Cell coverage is a little spotty. Plan on texting a lot. **Also have planned meeting areas and times in case you get separated**\nMargarita Ball Tip #10: Margaritas stations are free\, until they run out. And they do run out…\nMargarita Ball Tip #11: Dress well. This is a black tie event. You want to look good. People will not be allowed into the Ball wearing shorts\, hats\, jeans\, open collared shirts\, etc. The Dumb and Dumber outfits do not count as a tux. There will be teams checking dress code at the door and around the Ball. If you are not dressed in a tux or dark suit\, you will not be able to get in\, or asked to leave if you make it through.\nMargarita Ball Tip #12: Say hi to people. This is the largest Party/Social Mixer in the US so make the most of it.\nMargarita Ball Tip #13: The bars take drink tokens and tickets that you can buy at the ball right next to the bar. Bring a credit card for the silent auction and casino\, and some cash as well for tips and random incidentals. We suggest getting your drink tickets early since the lines grow as the night goes on.\nMargarita Ball Tip #14: There are two entrances to the ball. The sky bridge on the 2nd floor and the glass doors on the first floor facing the street. There is almost never a line at the 1st floor entrance. Of course now that I said that…\nMargarita Ball Tip #15: Don’t freak out. There are going to be a lot of people at the ball. There have been margaritas accidentally spilled every year…..it’s a tradition. Is it annoying? Yep. But it happens. Do not freak out.\nMargarita Ball Tip #16: Take Uber/cab. I know I said it twice. DO NOT DRIVE DRUNK. A $30 ride could save you thousands of dollars. And more importantly somebody’s life.\nMargarita Ball Tip #17: Bring a cool toy!!! Think about what a 6-12 year old boy or girl would love to get (valued at about $35 per attendee). And\, it’s a great way to start a conversation with the other guests. The way we put it is if you were to only get one gift this year for Christmas what would you want? For a lot of kids that’s the reality.\nMargarita Ball Tip #18: When you see somebody at the ball in uniform\, thank them. Not just for helping out at the Ball but for their service overall. These people sacrifice daily for things we take for granted far too often. And they are also here to keep the ball safe and fun.\nMargarita Ball Tip #19: Hit the dance floor. Guys that’s where the ladies are. If you don’t know how to dance\, learn before the Ball. Google it or something.\nMargarita Ball Tip #20: Ladies\, dress for the weather.\nMargarita Ball Tip #21: ***Remember your invite and ID!!!!!*** If you do not have your invite and ID\, you are not getting into the ball. Members and directors cannot walk people past the checkers.\nMargarita Ball Tip #22: Bring comfortable shoes to change into after the ball. Men and women. The after parties go on till around 3. This is a long night.\nMargarita Ball Tip #23: Rest before the Ball. If you are in a hotel room\, get some sleep that afternoon. Check in early and take a nap.\nMargarita Ball Tip #24: Explore the whole Ball. The 3rd floor is open! Three different floors with Casinos\, world class DJs\, kick butt silent auction\, Wine Pull\, and performing artists.\nMargarita Ball Tip #25: Escalators seem to get shut down every other year\, especially from 9 pm on. It’s a crowd thing. People are not able to get off the escalator fast enough with the crowd. There will be an elevator open this year to help. Another alternative\, cross the street or skybridge into the hotel and use those. It’s a work around\, but you are at the largest Black-tie Invitation only event in the world.\nMargarita Ball Tip #26: Smoking is NOT allowed inside the ball. Best bet is to exit the first (ground) floor and smoke on the sidewalk.\nMargarita Ball Tip #27: Check out the silent auction. It’s on the first floor. However\, if you would like to return to the Ball\, then you will need a Re-Entry Wristband. Please make sure you have one on before you exit the Ball. \nSafety & SecurityThe Dallas Margarita Society takes great concern in providing safety and security for our guests.  We provide over 300 personnel including officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety\, officers from the Dallas Police Department\, troops from the Texas State Guard\, and various other agencies in the DFW area.  A number of quick response EMS/EMT Medical Teams are also present along with a staffed onsite medical room. \nYour safety and security come first. \nSilent AuctionJoin us in raising funds for Dallas Children’s Charities through the Dallas Margarita Society Silent Auction. The silent auction\, prominently showcases local products and services valued at over $1 Million. Our Silent Auction has become one of the most popular features at the ball\, as well as one of our largest fundraising opportunities. Items include: \n\nFine wines and local restaurant dining experiences\nAutographed sports\, movie and television memorabilia\nExquisite art paintings\, prints and sculptures for all types of collectors\nTravel and vacation packages\nHealth and pampering treatments fit for any deserving significant other\n\nAll proceeds of the auction benefit Dallas Children’s Charities\, which help family oriented local charities in the DFW area. \nRegistration\nParticipants may register at the Silent Auction at  Dallas Margarita Ball the day of the event. A credit card is required for registration. \nSilent Auction Location and Hours\nThe Silent Auction is located in the first floor atrium of the Dallas Margarita Ball and is open the night of the Margarita Ball between the hours of 7:00 pm and 11:30 pm. \nPick up of items\nAll items won during the Silent Auction may be picked up immediately following the Silent Auction on Saturday night from 11:30pm to 12:30am or Sunday morning from 10:00am to 1:00pm. \nDonating Items\nExpose your services or products to the Dallas Margarita Ball’s 11\,000 affluent guests by donating items to the silent auction.
